Courses from an Introduction to woodturning to a more advance course.

On the course you will learn

Workshop safety; this includes dust control, lighting and heating for the workshop, and workshop layout.

Lathe choice is important; we will talk about the different lathes on the market, what the difference is between them, and which one might be the right choice for you. We will cover the woodturning chuck, how to use this important piece of equipment.

Tool selection, what tools you need for a start, 6 basic tools is all you need to start turning.

Sharpening your tools, how to look after your tools so you get the best from them.

Wood choice is important when you start turning. We will talk about how to choose woods for different projects.

1 Day course:- aimed for you to try woodturning, this course will cover the basics and you will take home your item you have turned on the course.

2 Day course:- aimed at learning the basics and will include more items to take home.

3 Day course:- will give you the chance to spend more time on the projects and cover them in more detail. and also improve your skills

Hourly tuition is available at an hourly rate of £15.  

Intermediate courses:- Woodturning Courses are available to advance your ability and to learn new skills and methods. This includes wet turning, hollowing and square edge bowls.
1 Day Course £100

The cost of the course will include the materials used, and refreshments and a light lunch.
  
The course will run from 9.30am – 4.30pm or if you prefer the course can be split into half days, morning or afternoons,
