This Course is aimed at anyone who needs help with tool sharpening. Sharpe woodturning tools will make turning more enjoyable and achieve a much better finish on your item requiring less sanding.

On the course you will learn


This Course will cover sharpening woodturning tools using both Dry and Wet grinding methods.

Using the Robert Sorby Deluxe Universal
Sharpening System on a dry grinder, you will see how easy it is to reproduce a bevel on your tools.

Using a Tormek wet stone grinder this will produce a fine edge on the tool. This is achieved with the fine stone wheel and then honing the bevel.

The advantage and disadvantage of both systems will be covered.

Also covered will be free hand tool sharpening.


The course will run from 9.30am 12.00pm or 1.30 to 4.00pm

Date will be arranged with student.
